David B Metcalfe - Fields of Light – Lumen Siccum

from The Hermetic Library Anthology Album - Magick, Music and Ritual 5 by The Hermetic Library

Fields of Light – Lumen Siccum

“The philosophical mercury can only be made the dry way.” — E. Canseliet

“For all knowledge and wonder (which is the seed of knowledge) is an impression of pleasure in itself: but when men fall to framing conclusions out of their knowledge, applying it to their particular, and ministering to themselves thereby weak fears or vast desires, there groweth that carefulness and trouble of mind which is spoken of: for then knowledge is no more Lumen siccum, whereof Heraclitus the profound said, Lumen siccum optima anima; but it becometh Lumen madidum or maceratum, being steeped and infused in the humours of the affections.” — Francis Bacon, The Advancement of Learning

Fields of Light – Lumen Siccum presents an aural administration of chymical procedure. Digested fragments of light, moments of inspiration and experimentation, separated, dissolved, sublimated, and fixed through the application of digital spagyria.

Sounds assembled 2010-2012, Processed & Fixed 2012
